Nested right in Federal Way, Cockatoo's is a staple for when it comes to Korean Fried Chicken. Unlike a majority of other K.F.C places, the sauce here is super thick and is intended to be. You can (and should) order a whole bird, and you'll genuinely get a whole chicken cut up into smaller parts, deep fried and coated in your choice of sauce (I suggest a half n half order or house / sweet n spicy). It being an entire bird rather than just drums and wings makes for a better and more unique experience that not too many places have, and you get some pretty amazing bites out of it.

Aside from this, they have a solid line up of side dishes. I hold in high regard the corn cheese and the rice cake/ramen ttepoki that you should absolutely order. Please keep in mind the sauces used will definitely make you feel full. On top of that, their complimentary popcorn is something to not to eat too much of.

Only downside, their bathrooms aren't the greatest. I've actually seen a cockroach here a couple of months ago that shook me.

I give it 3 stars because I loved it but my wife did not.
If you've had authentic KFC(Korean fried chicken) then you will love it. The crispy coating and juicy meat is amazing. The naked wings are not seasoned which are traditional Korean wings that I've had, but the wife didn't expect it so she was a little disappointed.
The added KPOP on their multi TVs really gave it the authentic divey Korean bar atmosphere. Only thing lacking was the flume of cigarette smoke, which is all right by me!!!

Been a fun relaxing place to go with my coworkers!!! Soju and Hite are my faves to get to drink and I love when you order they bring out sides for the food...Eggs you can cook your own style on a skillet at your table, popcorn etc..
The fried chicken and wings are a MUST HAVE when you come
The staff is also very welcoming and friendly they've been very attentive every time
    I definitely recommend

Found this place and made the trek up to try since the reviews say their kfc (Korean fried chicken) is bomb. My bf and I lived in SoCal where kfc is all the range rn and are looking for a place to fulfill our craving.

This place is in a hidden plaza. I had no idea where it was until my bf read it on their door. Also, this is DEFINITELY A BAR. We had our kids with us and we had no clue. We were seated near the front door that isn't in the bar so I wouldn't say this place is remotely kid friendly. Needless to say, we stayed bc we drove 40 min to get here. We ordered a full order of their wings with their house sauce which is a sweet and slightly spicy sauce. We also ordered jalapeño cheese- poppers basically, fries for the kids, wontons and a Japanese pancake.

The poppers and wontons were very standard which isn't a bad thing. They were meant more or appetizers even though we ordered waaay too much food. The Japanese pancake was hellla good!  It has the Japanese fish flakes so it had a fishy taste but the texture of it was bomb.

As for the chicken. The sauce was good! More on the sweet and mild side than I was expecting for kfc. I love the taste of gochujang so I was expecting way more spice. I wish they had given us an option to make it spicier bc it would have been better. Also, they didn't offer rice at the time we went? Which for is me weird. I should have ordered dukkpokki with it but oh well. The chicken is good for the area. Like I said, I wish they gave is the us an option for spice level.

    So. Good.

Tried yangnyum chicken wings for the first time and loved it. You get daikon radish and a salad as side dishes too! We also ordered deep fried fish cake, which came out looking like fries!! They were so delicious, and came with ketchup as a dipping sauce. Tasted great with or without.

Service was quick and helpful, and the whole restaurant itself is really cool. We'll definitely be back again.

PS we came during happy hour!! 5-8:30 pm (select items drop to $6)
